Once you have taken the IELTS, there’s no need to send your scores yourself.
During test registration, you can select 1 to 5 institutions or universities to receive your results at no extra cost.
If you need to apply to more schools later, you can request additional score reports through your test center, usually for a small fee of $20 on average.
Many institutions now receive results digitally, meaning they can access your scores more quickly and with fewer delays than traditional mail.
Many beginners fall into the trap of using long, complex grammar that they don’t fully control.
Instead, you should focus on expressing yourself clearly using vocabulary and grammar you know well.
As long as your English is understandable and mostly correct, reaching Band 6 is totally possible.
Many people aiming for Band 6 lose marks because their answers are too short or vague.
Whether you’re speaking or writing, try to answer the question fully, give a reason, and add an example.
For instance, if the question is “Do you enjoy reading?” don’t just say, “Yes, I like it.”
Add more: “Yes, I enjoy reading, especially novels, because they help me relax after a long day.”
At Band 6, you are expected to make fewer grammatical mistakes and, most importantly, not repeat the same ones.
So, you should review your own writing and speaking to identify common patterns of error (e.g., Do you always forget articles like a, an, and the?)
Start keeping a grammar notebook where you write down the errors you make and how to fix them; go back to review it every few days.
Band 6 vocabulary doesn’t mean using high-level words, but you must still have a wide enough range of words to talk about everyday topics comfortably.
The best way to do this is by building a topic-based vocabulary list for common IELTS themes like education, health, technology, environment, and daily life.
Learn not just single words but also how to use them in simple, correct sentences.
