Lume turns your correct answers into an estimated score, based on how the TOEIC test is scored. ETS uses its own conversion for each test, so use your Lume score as a guide.
Most employers ask for the Listening and Reading test. Some jobs also ask for Speaking and Writing, which is a separate test. Check with your employer or school.
No. In Listening and Reading there is no penalty for a wrong answer, so always choose an answer, even if you have to guess.
It depends on the gap between your score and your target. Take a practice test first. Then follow your study plan: it tells you what to do each day.
The test has 200 questions across 7 parts. Listening runs 45 minutes and Reading runs 75 minutes, so about 2 hours of test time. ETS describes the full session as approximately 2.5 hours including about 30 minutes of background questions.
Each section is scored from 5 to 495, giving a total score from 10 to 990.
Listening: Part 1 Photographs has 6 questions, Part 2 Question-Response has 25, Part 3 Conversations has 39 and Part 4 Talks has 30, totalling 100. Reading: Part 5 Incomplete Sentences has 30, Part 6 Text Completion has 16 and Part 7 Reading Comprehension has 54, totalling 100.
No. TOEIC Speaking and Writing is a separate test. ETS states that when taken together with the TOEIC Speaking and Writing tests, the tests provide a reliable measurement of all four English-language communication skills.
Part 7 Reading Comprehension has 54 questions: 29 from single passages, which is 10 texts with 2 to 4 questions each, and 25 from multiple passages, which is 5 sets of 5 questions.
