Instructions 

In the PTE Listening Fill In The Blanks section, you’ll listen to an audio of 30-60 seconds. 

A transcript of the recording will also be displayed on the screen. 

However, there are some empty spaces, and candidates need to listen to the audio and type in the missing words.

For each correct word, you’ll get 1 point. 

No point will be credited if you get the wrong response or leave the blank without an answer. 

The recording only plays once, so make sure you listen to it carefully and complete the answers with correct spelling.

Not Skimming The Text Before The Audio Starts

Many candidates often make this mistake. 

However, a few seconds before listening is more precious than they thought. 

You can use this time to skim the text to get a general idea of the content and guess the missing words if possible.

Repeated words or phrases can be important keywords that you need to pay attention to while listening.

Not Tracking The Text

When you can’t keep up with the audio, you may feel lost and lose focus, causing incomplete answers. 

Always track the text with your cursor or finger.

Doing so will help you follow up with the content and eliminate confusion. 

Giving An Answer With Wrong Spelling

Due to some reasons, such as carelessness or insufficient time, students may skip checking the word spelling.

And if there’s a spelling mistake, they won’t receive a point.

Therefore, always double-check your answer to ensure it’s correct. 

Leaving Empty Blanks

It can happen that you don’t know the answer to a blank space.
