One of the most common reasons is sudden health issues before the exam. In this situation, Pearson may offer you a one-off reschedule without any extra charges.
But to get this privilege, you must provide proof from the local hospital or clinic supporting your health claim. And remember that you are only granted one medical reschedule for a particular exam.
Another reason lies in the administrative issues. Let’s say you have lost your passport or had problems with your ID and payment methods.
You can change your test date to the upcoming one. This way, you’ll have enough time to resolve those issues.
Besides, many reschedule their tests because they are not confident in their language ability and want to prepare better.
Other reasons include a desire to change the test center, conflict with the traveling time, urgent family commitments, etc.
You can reschedule your PTE exam with 3 possible methods:
Open the official Pearson PTE website and sign in to your account by entering your username and password. Then, you will be delivered to the PTE dashboard, where you can see the test appointment.
Click the “Reschedule” button in the middle of the screen. Wait for the system to process your request. Once completed, choose the test timing and date before selecting “Book.”
Agree to the scheduling policy and review your information before clicking “Next” and “Confirm.” The rescheduling details will then be sent to your email.
You won’t see a “Reschedule” button if you have fewer than 14 days (2 weeks) before the test begins or have changed the date more than 6 times.
Suppose you find the first method too complicated. In that case, you can visit this website and send a request to the PTE help center. To receive support, open the pop-up message button in the bottom right corner of your screen.
You can also call the PTE hotline in the country where you take the test. For instance, if you live in India, dial 0008004402020.
Let’s say you cannot sit the exam for unforeseeable reasons, such as family emergencies and health problems. PTE always supports you by opening the emergency reschedule form.
You must complete this form at least 14 business days before your PTE test date. Provide your full name, identification number, etc., and attach related evidence supporting your claim.
The PTE staff will review your submission and contact you if they require further information.
If you reschedule more than 14 full calendar days before the test date, the PTE reschedule fee is zero. Other than that, you are not allowed to change the date. 14 days or less before the exam starts, the only choice is to cancel it.
Additionally, each test can only be changed 6 times at maximum.
If you want to cancel your PTE test, you can do so without paying extra charges up to 14 calendar days before the test date. If the cancellation time frame is between 8 and 13 days, you will be refunded half of the test fee.
If the test date is less than 7 days away, you will not be eligible for a refund. You should remember those policy terms to avoid losing extra fees.
For instance, your test is planned to start on January 25th. You won’t lose any money if you cancel it before January 11th.
If you cancel the test between January 12th and 17th, you will lose half of your registration fee. If you cancel from January 18th onwards, you will not receive any money.
Besides, according to the PTE cancellation policy, Pearson will reimburse your payment via the credit card, debit card, or bank account provided during registration.
If you used vouchers, PTE will issue a new one, accounting for deductions due to late cancellation.
