Key Takeaways
- PTE fees: Pearson publishes them only via its price finder.
- What decides your cost: the 14-day and 7-day refund tiers and the 6-reschedule cap.
PTE fees vary depending on where you’ll perform the PTE test. So, can you afford it in your home country?
This article by LUME Test will cover the registration fees in different countries to help you better prepare your budget.
Let’s take a look.
PTE exam fees depend on the country where you book and on the test type, so there is no single worldwide price. You choose a test centre and pay when you book in your myPTE account. Prices can change without notice, so check the fee for your country in the official test centre search before you pay.

PTE fee calculator: price by country
Choose the country where you will sit the test to see what Pearson charges there for each PTE test.
Source: Pearson price finder, prices checked on 25 October 2026 for 124 countries. “Not listed” means Pearson does not offer that test in the country. Country missing from the list? Pearson does not sell PTE there yet, so book in a neighbouring country. Always confirm the final amount in myPTE before you pay.
What you actually pay: the rules behind the PTE fee
Pearson does not publish a country fee table anywhere on its website. Prices are served only through its price finder tool and the myPTE booking flow, and they change without notice. What Pearson does publish, and what decides how much of your fee you keep, are the rules below.
Cancel or reschedule: what it costs
| Time before your test | Reschedule | Refund if you cancel |
|---|---|---|
| More than 14 full calendar days | Free | 100% |
| 14 days down to more than 7 days | Not available — you must cancel and rebook | 50% |
| 7 calendar days or fewer | Not available | No refund |
The fee rules most guides leave out
| Maximum reschedules | 6 times per test appointment. After that you cannot reschedule it again. |
| Earliest you can book | 6 months before the test date |
| Latest you can book | Check the last available slot for your test centre in myPTE. We could not confirm a fixed cut-off in Pearson’s published policies. |
| Emergency reschedule | Pearson may, at its discretion, let you reschedule free of charge after a documented illness or family emergency. There is no automatic right to rebook. Send the Request Emergency Reschedule form with your evidence no later than 72 hours after your test appointment. |
| Arriving late | You must arrive 30 minutes early. Arrive late and you lose the whole fee. |
| Wrong or mismatched ID | You are not admitted and lose the whole fee. Personal details in your myPTE account (except date of birth) can be edited up to 24 hours before the test. |
| Vouchers | Non-refundable, cannot be extended, and cannot be used to pay a rescheduling fee |
We found no PTE late booking fee
We found no mention of one in the refund policy, the cancellation policy, the payment policy, the terms and conditions or the help centre. Check the final amount in myPTE before you pay.
How you can pay, by country
| Where | Accepted payment |

| China | Also WeChat Pay and Alipay. Vouchers can be bought in RMB from authorised agencies. |

FAQs
Why Are PTE Fees Different Among Countries?
Many factors, such as exchange rates, countries’ taxes, and types of tests, can affect the prices.
Pearson’s price finder shows the fee for the country where you take the test. PTE Home A1/ A2/ B1 are less expensive than other types.
What Payment Methods Can I Use To Pay My PTE Fees?
You must make the payment when booking the test. Remember to pay the fees in the currency of the country where you want to take the test.
For example, if you live in India but want to take the exam in Australia, you must pay in Australian dollars (AUD).
If you pay in the incorrect currency, you can’t proceed with the registration, and your payment will be returned or rejected.
Acceptable payment methods are Visa and MasterCard credit or debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. In China, WeChat Pay and Alipay are also accepted, and in India, PayU. Pearson PTE does not accept PayPal.
The name on the payment card does not have to be your name. For example, it can be your parent’s card, as long as the billing details you enter match the cardholder’s details. Pearson recommends paying with your own card where possible. If someone else is paying, only use a card you have explicit permission to use.
You may apply a voucher to the test fee. Ensure your voucher is not expired, which can’t be extended or replaced. You also can’t use it for a rescheduling fee.
Conclusion
Knowing the PTE fees in different countries can help you prepare your finances. Look at our thorough list above to decide where to take the test to fit your budget.
